Encourage children to use both sides of a piece of paper

To continue to show that we feel proud of our school and nursery when it is clean and tidy

To continue to check playground / outside area and classrooms / playrooms to encourage everyone to make sure they are tidy – eco warriors

How parents can help

 

Bring in old news papers/ junk for us to use in our creative work

Explain what the household recycling boxes are for and encourage your child to use it

Point out the large recycling units at supermarkets and such places, perhaps provide an opportunity for your child to use it

Biodiversity

Teach children about the importance of biodiversity and what we can do to help

To observe wildlife in our school grounds through our trail cameras

Take part in the RSPB - big garden birdwatch

Minibeast survey

Children can talk about what they have learnt and show some understanding of biodiversity and how they help

Children can watch weekly the images caught from our trail cameras and beome aware of the different wildlife and how to attract it within our nursery environment

Children are familiar with and can name the different birds /mininbeasts

Encouraging your child to talk about what they have learnt

Play your part – help living things where you live. Provide food in the form of flowers, shelter for nesting

Create nesting habitat or bug hotel

Leave a corner of your garden to grow wild to provide a place for local wildlife to live and feed

Be sure not to drop litter
